TYNE VALLEY- A dirt bike rear ended a car just moments before the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival began early on Saturday afternoon.
Island emergency services were on the scene at the corner of Barlow and Bideford Road in Tyne Valley after a dirt bike rear ended a car near the local rink. A teenger from Ellerslie was driving the dirt bike, and a teenage girl was riding on the back.
The accident caused a slight delay in the annual Tyne Valley parade as it occured just before 1 p.m.
The driver of the bike was transported to Prince County Hospital in Summerside where he was treated for possible head injuries, but for nothing life threatening. The young girl also sustained minor injuries.
RCMP continue to investigate.
