BLOOMFIELD CORNER - Two passengers were taken to Western Hospital in Alberton following a two-vehicle collision involving seven people at Bloomfield Corner at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday,

West Prince RCMP said they responded to the collision at the intersection of the Mill River East Road and Route 2.

The collision resulted in one of the vehicles being pushed off the road into the ditch.

All four occupants of the vehicle traveling on Route 2 were uninjured while the three people in the vehicle coming off the Mill River East road did suffer injuries.

The driver was treated at the scene by Island EMS and released. O’Leary Fire Department assisted in removing a passenger from the vehicle, using the Jaws of Life.

Island EMS transported the two passengers, with non-life-threatening injuries, to hospital in Alberton.

The collision is still under investigation, however it appears that alcohol was not a factor said police.

I guess that means we'll have another round-about at this intersection too!!! If people want to drive on the Islad roads, they should be cautious and pay attention to what they are doing and pay attention to the traffic around them. The roads and intersections are rarely the cause of any accidents....its usually because the drivers aren't paying attention or driving wrecklessly.
