If Prince Edward Island was a well-kept secret, the cat appears to be out of the bag.

Having Live! With Regis and Kelly produced on P.E.I. this week is leading to mounds of media coverage and a flurry of searches by Americans clamouring to their computer to learn more about this tourist destination.

In addition to local media tripping over themselves to cover any and all things associated with the show and its stars Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, national and international reporters are digging in as well.

CBS News.com Monday had an article entitled ‘Prince Edward Island Welcomes Live with Regis and Kelly’ splashed across its entertainment web page complete with photograph from a Canadian Press photographer.

The top half of A3 in Monday’s Globe and Mail was filled with a photo by The Guardian’s Brian McInnis showing Philbin gingerly handling a lobster with an accompanying story pronouncing ‘The unveiling of Canada’s hidden gem: When Live! With Regis and Kelly broadcasts from Charlottetown this week, even an Arizona waitress will know where Prince Edward Island is.’

Its great that so many people around North America have been able to see our beautiful province....there are not many places in the world as nice as PEI.....but if we have to remember that if a lot of people come to PEI and try to start businesses here like resorts and stuff like that, our little province won't be the hidden gem it used to be and us Islanders will have to fight with tourists to enjoy it the way we want.

The extra Tourism exposure to PEI could also get American Movie Producers to look at PEI as a four season Movie location. The beautiful Sping, Summer and Fall and the rough, cold, desolate Winter season. The Americal dollar worth more than Canada's. The sweet deal Tax incentive the Federal Gov. introduced after certain former politicians with their business "associates" had invested the media & the entertainment-movie & tv industry.
