A young fox eyes a dandelion that has gone to seed as a possible play toy in a back yard in North Rustico Harbour. A family of foxes consisting of a mother and six kits have a den in a sand dune near the yard and Charlene Gauthier said in an email to The Guardian that the mother fox brings the young ones to the back yard because it is sheltered and safe. When the kits get older they move on to other territories, she said. Gauthier said this has been going on for several years and "she obviously feels my back yard is safe territory." A beautiful picture of a beautiful, intelligent animal.
We've seen PEI's beautiful Foxes up close in Stanhope & Savage Harbour and got some beautiful pictures of them. My 13 yr. old son was totally thrilled to see these beautiful, semi-domesticated Fox up close.
They are 'awesome.' -

They are cute, they are to cute that is why everyone feeds them. Now they have become a menace and a nuisance. You see I live in Reeves Estates where they are almost as tame as any house cat. There lies the problem, they chase my cat and corner him and if they catch him I''m not sure what they will do. If you try to scare them away they just stand there and look at you. I know of a case where they walked up to a person from behind and proceeded to smell their hand.
People have to stop feeding them or they should be relocated out of the area. They are wild animals NOT house pets. -
