Much-loved music promoter, the late Hal Mills, is a recipient of an ECMA Stompin Tom Award. It will be presented in Cape Breton in April.

The late Hal Mills to receive a Stompin Tom Award

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) has announced the recipients of the 2016 Honorary East Coast Music Awards.

The Stompin’ Tom Award recipients this year are the late Hal Mills, for P.E.I,

Mark Gaudet, New Brunswick; Emilio Pace, Cape Breton; Gordon Stobbe, Nova Scotia; and Shirley Montague, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The recipient of the Dr. Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award is John (Jack) O’Donnell, while the Musician’s Achievement Award will go to Ed Woodsworth and the Industry Builder Award to Fred Lavery.

The awards will be given out at the Industry Awards Reception presented by Support4Culture and Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation on Sunday, April 17, at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre, 2-4 p.m.
