Host Larry Campbell is excited to have Keelin Wedge join him for the first ceilidh of 2016 at Winsloe United Church, Jan. 11, 7:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Keelin Wedge, shown above, will be the guest at the Winsloe United Church ceilidh on Jan. 11. The evening will be hosted by Larry Campbell, right.

Wedge, who is from St. Louis, P.E.I., is known as a multi-instrumentalist, playing fiddle, guitar, bass, mandolin and drums. She also does some singing and stepdancing, giving her the reputation as a talented performer who has a lot of energy and loves all kinds of music.

She plays in a variety of groups, including Fiddlers’ Sons and an acoustic group with Campbell and Andy Paynter. She will likely be teaming up with Campbell Monday night for a jam or two.

Campbell, who is sometimes called the Don Williams of country music, is a member of the group Neon Moon and has had regular gigs at the Wing in Summerside, the Charlottetown Legion and Kaylee Hall, just to name a few. He won the Music P.E.I. Award for bluegrass album of the year in 2004 and 2005 and was nominated by the ECMA for bluegrass album in 2004 and 2005.

Also joining these two musicians on stage on Monday evening will be the house band.

The ceilidh is a fundraiser for Winsloe United Church which is wheelchair accessible and located at 121 Winsloe Rd., next to the Confederation Trail. A light lunch will be served with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
