Grace Christian School buys suite of LeapFrog devices
This winter, kindergarten students at Grace Christian School will have an exciting opportunity to expand their learning through a new and interactive technology.
Through a generous donation from a local business owner, the school was able to purchase a suite of LeapFrog devices for the Kindergarten program.
With this new suite, Kindergarten students will use the tools to enrich their learning. The design of the learning materials and associated curriculum recognizes that not all students learn the same way and through the use of this new technology students will explore their creativity and logic, foster a love of reading and social understanding, and inspire scientific thinking.
"You may find a student recording or illustrating their own storybook or perhaps exploring the water cycle before heading off to the art center to construct a model," says Jason Biech, Grace Christian School principal.
"Some students may explore a second language such as French or Mandarin, while other students will explore ecosystems. Truthfully, the possibilities are endless."
The new learning suite is one of many expansions Grace Christian School is embarking upon.
Another new program recently introduced coding to all students from PreK through Grade 12. Additionally, the school now offers mandarin classes for students in the elementary grades.
"At Grace Christian School, we do more than teach subjects to students. From the earliest years through to graduation, we are developing high capacity leaders, thinkers, and innovators for the future," adds Biech.
"We are creating a school where our students are highly engaged and our learning environment is authentic, fosters mastery of skills, meaningful relationships, and global service."
What: Grace Christian School is a private school located in Charlottetown that provides quality faith based education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
