SUMMERSIDE – Country superstar Toby Keith is bringing his Hammer Down Tour to Credit Union Place.

From his first No. 1 hit song Should've Been A Cowboy, to his latest release Drinks After Work, Toby Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era.

5th String Entertainment has scheduled the country singer’s stop here for Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m.

Keith’s albums have sold more than 38 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard's Top 200 Artists of the Decade, but the core of his unparalleled success is his songwriting, which has powered an astounding succession of hit songs.

Keith has received the honour of songwriter/artist of the decade by the Nashville Songwriters Association International, he is a three-time BMI Country songwriter/artist of the year and was named the American Country Awards' artist of the decade.

Tickets will be on sale beginning Friday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.

When Toby Keith first appeared on the scene, traditional country kind of scoffed him, but Toby is very talented and people love him!! His songs reflect the ordinary people and that's why WE LOVE TOBY!!W

I am so excited to hear him sing…I am afraid to share my excitement with people…I want good tickets….lol but this one is worth it….He supports us Veterans..it is my honour to hear him sing! Toby Keith does not do it for the money….IMO anyways….doesn't mean people do not try and make money off him……that is the viscous cycle at play in society….sad

as a summmerside taxpayer i would love to know just how much of our tex dollars are being water on all these 3 hour concerts. i just don't see where the tourism impact is. most people come to town for the show at lets say 6 o'clock and leave at the end of the show three hours later. what a waste of tax payers money.

Toby is a proud American and stands behind the US troops. He never said he hates Canada, there is no proof/location/date as to where and what concert he said that. He's had so many Canadian concerts (including Cavendish) since that 2006 rumor started so obviously not too many others are offended by clowns like you who just spread rumors.

The canada thing is actually an urban myth according to snopes. Mind you I still can't stand the guy, but why should me not liking him stop somebody who does from seeing the show.
