Pat Deighan, Jennifer Evans to head up Eastlink East Coast Music Week’s Charlottetown organizing committee
HALIFAX — The East Coast Music Association has announced that Pat Deighan and Jennifer Evans will co-chair the local organizing committee for Eastlink East Coast Music Week 2014 in Charlottetown.
“Pat and Jennifer will be excellent leaders of our local organizing committee,” said Heather Gibson, chair of the board. “They are immersed in both the P.E.I. music and corporate communities, and will help ECMA to develop new and exciting relationships with community and corporations on the Island.”
Evans is the general manager for Ocean 100 and HOT 105.5 and is active with the chamber of commerce, Holland College Foundation Board, P.E.I. Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame and the Gold Cup Parade.
Deighan is an active musician who owns Back Alley Music, Charlottetown's well-loved independent record store. With his wife Meghann, Deighan owns and operates Trailside Cafe & Inn in Mount Stewart, one of the Island's small halls offering music lovers of all ages an intimate setting to hear a range of Canadian songwriters.
The ECMW event is planned for April 2-6 in 2014 is thrilling, as the province pays tribute to 150 years of the Charlottetown Conference.
Awards and stages submissions have closed and the jury process is underway, with the first programming announcements for ECMW set for January 2014.
“The City of Charlottetown is very excited to be hosting Eastlink East Coast Music Week in 2014,” said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee. “The layout of our city lends well to hosting ECMW, which becomes a large block party. Music and culture play an important role within our community and the city will come alive with all of the featured venues and events.”
