There will be a West End Block Party Saturday on King Street between Queen Street and Pownal Street from 1-5 p.m.
The block party is being hosted by a group of area residents with the support of the Charlottetown Downtown Residents Association and in partnership with the City of Charlottetown and city councillor Eddie Rice.
Organizers Judy Gallant, Dawn Chappelle and Lexi Chappelle, who’ve done much of the legwork in planning the event and getting it off the ground, say the block party will be fun for the whole family.
There will be games and live music from the band Sammy.
Hot dogs will be served from 2-3 p.m.
Gallant said the city has been tremendously supportive of the event, providing food and helping to make arrangements.
Everyone is invited Saturday's event and those planning to attend are asked to bring their own chairs.
There is no rain date for this event.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to become a member of the Downtown Residents Association and win a prize.
