DUNDAS – It’s hollerin’ time.
Loosen up your vocal chords and get ready for one of the highlights of the Dundas Plow Match and Fair this weekend. The wife and husband hollerin’ contest is back once again with contestants lining up.
“It’s an old country way of communicating,’’ says chair Sandra Hodder Acorn. “Remember, before there were cell phones, the only way to get the attention of someone working out in the field was by hollerin’.”
Officials weren’t sure if past Hollerin’ champ Deb Jeffries from the Hunter River area was planning a return visit to the grounds.
The 73rd annual match features music, food, animal shows and everything country this weekend with the hollerin’ contest and rolling pin toss going Saturday at 2 p.m.
