The East Coast Music Association has announced the nominees for this year’s industry awards with five from Prince Edward Island.
The industry awards, which will be presented at the Delta Halifax during the East Coast Music Awards, Festival and Conference next month, recognize individuals, companies and organizations that have made outstanding achievements developing, promoting and showcasing East Coast music.
Awards will be presented in 10 categories, three of which have representation from P.E.I.
In addition to the 10 industry awards, the music award for producer of the year will also be presented.
The Festival of Small Halls and the Indian River Festival are nominated for event of the year.
St. Mary’s Church and the Trailside Café & Inn are nominated for venue of the year. Trailside Café & Inn was recently named venue of the year at the Music P.E.I. Awards.
Doug Gallant, news and entertainment reporter with The Guardian, has been nominated for media person of the year.
Awards will also be presented during the industry brunch in the following categories: graphic/media artist of the year; live sound engineer of the year; management/manager of the year; media outlet of the year; music merchant of the year; studio engineer of the year; studio of the Year.
