The Confederation Centre of the Arts will anounce the actresses to play Anne and Diana in Anne of Green Gables - The Musical during the 2013 Charlottetown Festival season.
Perhaps best described as ‘Canada's orphan sweetheart' Anne of Green Gables is an iconic role that has launched many successful actors' careers over the musical's 48-year history.
"Since announcing our 2013 playbill we have been met with hundreds of audition requests from some of the country's most prolific theatre talents," says Anne Allan, artistic director of The Charlottetown Festival. "The chance to attain one of the roles in the premiere of Evangeline, with its 30-person cast and epic musical score, combined with the two coveted roles (Anne and Gilbert) in Anne is creating remarkable excitement across the industry."
Auditions were held in December in Halifax, Moncton, Charlottetown and Toronto.
