P.E.I.’s Martha MacIsaac is going to the White House. The real one.

The cast of NBC’s comedy series 1600 Penn, including Bill Pullman, Jenna Elfman and MacIsaac,  is scheduled to screen the show's pilot episode and do a question-and-answer session at the National Press Club in downtown Washington today.

Later, the cast will attend a private screening at the White House. During the visit, they will have a photo shoot with the president, as well as receive a tour of the White House.

MacIsaac, who stars as Becca Gilchrist, the president's (Pullman) over-achieving and perfectionist daughter, was enroute to Washington Tuesday and unavailable for an interview.

Born and raised in P.E.I., MacIsaac relocated to Toronto at a young age to pursue acting and has since appeared in both cinematic and television productions. She is perhaps best known for her role in Judd Apatow's hit comedy Superbad, where she starred alongside Michael Cera.

She began her acting career at the age of 11 on television in the title role in Emily of New Moon. She then had a recurring arc on Greek and starred opposite Kelly Rowan in the CTV film In God's Country.

Additionally, she has lent her voice to numerous animated series, including Family Guy, Spyburbia, Friends and Heroes, Magi-Nation and Di-Gata Defenders.

Additional feature film credits include the remake of Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left, the sci-fi thriller The Thaw, opposite Val Kilmer, as well as the recently completed Faith, Fraud & Minimum Wage and Dead Before Dawn 3D.

MacIsaac took centre stage as the star of three consecutive productions for the Soulpepper Theatre Company atToronto's Young Centre for the Performing Arts. She opened in Leaving Home, followed by Our Town, and finally transitioned into Time of Your Life. MacIsaac previously received a prestigious Dora Award nomination, presented annually by the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts honouring theatre, dance and opera productions in Toronto, for her theatrical debut in Henrik Ibsen's The Wild Duck.

She is married and currently resides in Los Angeles.

1600 Penn airs at 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. AST on NBC for P.E.I. viewers.

    Family Guy - Wow
    - January 10, 2013 at 13:46:32

She was a voice on Family Guy? Wow! And okay, but what voice? Everybody knows it was the episode called "Friends Without Benefits" and that it's the seventh episode of the eleventh season. And everybody on the planet knows it was the 195th overall episode. Everybody also knows it was originally aired on Fox in the United States on December 9, 2012. Everyone that knows anything also knows it was written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and directed by Jerry Langford. But the big question is, who's voice - as Stewie would say, "These are the important questions in life and they must be answered - they must be answered!" Come on Guardian, let's do some investigative reporting when it matters, give us the details!

Just because you will never amount to anything worth noting, doesn't mean we should ignore our island talent. This is a good story. Brava Martha, keep it up!
