O'LEARY - Brett Gallant and his Charlottetown team will get to defend their Canadian junior men's curling title next month in Sorel-Tracy, Que.
Gallant and teammates Adam Casey, Anson Carmody, Alex MacFadyen and coach Kathy Gallant breezed through the Pepsi provincial championships at the Maple Leaf Curling Club.
They faced the Matthew MacLean rink from the host club in the A, B and C?finals and won them all.
It was the fifth-straight provincial junior title and the sixth in seven years for Gallant.
In the C final Monday, Gallant needed only five ends to rack up a 9-1 victory.
MacLean's fate was similar to what other teams in the competition experienced against the world silver medallists.
The Gallant rink looked like a team on a mission, as its next stop is the nationals, Jan. 16-24.
"We put a lot of work in this year, trying to make ourselves a little better and I think we played almost to our full potential this week," said Gallant in assessing his team's 7-0 record at the provincials. "It's coming along, so we should be good to go in a month or so."
Other members of the MacLean rink are Marshall Smallman, Kevin Gallant, Alan MacLean and coaches Glen MacLean and Shannon Smallman.

Women
O'LEARY - A stolen triple in the fifth end proved to be Sarah Fullerton's Cornwall rink's ticket to the Canadian junior women's curling championship.
Fullerton and her team of Michelle McQuaid, Sara MacRae, Whitney Young and coach Brenda MacMillan will represent P.E.I. at the nationals, Jan.16-24, in Sorel-Tracy, Que.
They defeated the Anita Casey rink from Charlottetown 9-2 Monday night to clinch the provincial title.
It was the fifth try for three members of the winning rink and it follows a 2007 P.E.I. Canada Games berth and three provincial 17-and-under titles.
"I spared in the 20-and- under (junior) six years ago and, ever since I spared in that, I wanted this," said Fullerton. "It's a dream come true for all of us."
Other members of the Casey rink are Abby Burgess, Hillary Thompson, Jessica van Ouwerkerk and coach Jeff Wilson.
