Four players and a coach from P.E.I. will see their first action with Team Atlantic today at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Timmins, Ont.
Team Atlantic, which also includes players from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, will open the 10-team tournament against the United States at 3 p.m. AT.
Islanders on the team are players Brett Beauvais of Summerside, Brent Andrews of Hunter River, Jason Cameron of Cornwall, Darcy Ashley of Alberton and assistant coach Jonathan Murphy of Charlottetown.
The Atlantic squad will play Team Pacific on Wednesday, Czech Republic on Thursday and Russia on Friday. All games are at 3 p.m. AT.
Placing games and playoffs are on Sunday and medal games are on Monday.
The teams are divided into two groups. Group A will feature Finland, Ontario, Quebec, Sweden and West while Atlantic, Czech Republic, Pacific, Russia and the United States are in Group B.
