  • Details : Everything Old is New Again Series of workshops on textile crafts to be held. Many textile crafts on Prince Edward Island are experiencing a resurgence, with knitting needles heard clicking among young and old. The PEI Home Economics Association is holding several interactive educational session across the province in March to allow Islanders to learn more about the history of rug hooking, quilting, knitting and basket making. People can see how these arts have changed or evolved to the present day forms. The Lot 16 Community Hall will be the site for the final session -showcasing rug hooking with Linda Marchbank and basket weaving with weavers from the Island Traditions Store in Richmond on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. The sessions are open to everyone, and people are encouraged to bring along samples of their work to display. Admission is by donation, and a light lunch will be served. For more information, or storm dates, visit peihea or contact or call 566-4217. These presentations have been funded in part by the Community Cultural Partnership Program.
