2014 PEI Fitness Frenzy

  • Details : The PEI Fitness Frenzy returns September 4th-7th at facilities across eastern PEI. Proceeds from the event will go towards building Callum’s Classroom in Kenya. The Fitness Frenzy was created in 2013 by Kim MacDonald, of Innergyze Fitness and raised $1400 for childhood cancer awareness and research. Single classes are $5, or a weekend pass, with unlimited classes, is $20. All studios donate space and instructors donate their time. 2014 Minutes of Story and Song: Cynthia MacLeod & Gordon Belsher

  • Details : The Community of Miltonvale Park will celebrate PEI’s 2014 Sesquicentennial with 2014 Minutes of Story and Song. Fourteen storytelling shows of approximately 2 hours and 23 minutes each, will feature Island storytellers and musicians and highlight and celebrate various aspects of life on the Island. A number of well-known Island story tellers will be paired with local people who can spin a good yarn. Some of the shows will be organized by theme – such as religion, agriculture, the sea, education, Island celebrations, Acadians, transportation, with a look back (and maybe even ahead!) to some of the Island ways. Admission is planned to be $10, and includes a light lunch. Shows will occur on the first Friday of each month during 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall with additional shows on July 18 and August 22. Larry Krause Concert and Cowboy Supper

  • Details : Larry Krause, the host of Shaw TV’s “The Timberline Country Music Show” is coming to the Milton Community Hall on his Western Range Tour Monday, September 8th. He will sing Western Roots songs - his own and those by other songwriters who have worked to tell the stories of the people, places and times of the west, for all to know and remember. Also included in the one man show will be some selections of cowboy poetry, as well as some stories that may even have some truth winding through them. As Larry says, "This show will get you feelin’ you are sittin’ round the campfire after a cowboy day”.
