2014 Minutes of Story and Song: Caroline Bernard, Remi Arsenault, Patricia Richard and more!

  • Details : The Community of Miltonvale Park will celebrate PEI’s 2014 Sesquicentennial with 2014 Minutes of Story and Song. Fourteen storytelling shows of approximately 2 hours and 23 minutes each, will feature Island storytellers and musicians and highlight and celebrate various aspects of life on the Island. A number of well-known Island story tellers will be paired with local people who can spin a good yarn. Some of the shows will be organized by theme – such as religion, agriculture, the sea, education, Island celebrations, Acadians, transportation, with a look back (and maybe even ahead!) to some of the Island ways. Admission is planned to be $10, and includes a light lunch. Shows will occur on the first Friday of each month during 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall with additional shows on July 18 and August 22. 5th Annual Evening of Wine & Song for Anderson House

  • Details : The 5th Annual Evening of Wine & Song will be held on November 15th . A popular black-dress event for women only includes a catered reception at 6:30pm followed by a live auction and music, many great door prizes and cash draws. This year’s musical lineup will include Chas Guay, Chris Gauthier, Reg Ballagh, Taylor Buote and more! Tickets are $58 ($50 charitable tax receipt) which represents the average cost to provide Anderson House services to one woman for one night. All proceeds support programming and services at Anderson House.

  • Details : The Haviland Club is pleased to announce: Fine Art Show & Sale An exhibition of Paintings, Prints, Photos and Sculpture Saturday November 29th 3 – 9pm Sunday November 30th 11am – 5pm Open to the public at no charge Artist Louise Carota and the Haviland Club are hosting the first of what is hoped to be an annual or semi annual fixture in the Charlottetown social and art scene. This beautiful building provides a stately setting for local artists to display their paintings, prints, photos and sculpture to both members of the club and the general public. Planned for the last weekend in November, with Christmas festivities in full swing, this Art Show and Sale is just the thing for those looking for a one of the kind original art. After living in Ottawa for many years, Louise Carota returned to PEI and has been a member of the club for the past year. Always interested in fostering opportunities for artist’s to exhibit their work, she decided to organize this event with the full support of the Haviland Club. Booths will be set up in the great room and lounge of the building. It is hoped the show will attract artists from across the island who produce high quality art in different mediums and styles. The show can accommodate 13 artists on the main floor. The overflow can make use of various rooms on the second floor as well.
