Enough of reminiscing about 2009! It's over; time to move on. Look to the future! Specifically, it's time to figure out which shows deserve a spot on our very, very full DVRs. After all, not everybody wants to watch the Olympics, right? Check out which TV shows to look out for in 2010.
• American Idol (Jan. 12, 2010): While we're sure that Fox would put Idol on 24/7 if they could, it's a good thing they only do one season a year, because by the time the New Year rolls around, we've actually started to miss the glorified karaoke contest and its elfin host. Will this new season produce yet another androgynous glam rocker, like Adam Lambert? Will someone invent another ridiculous hairstyle like Sanjaya's ponyhawk? And, we'll admit, we're a little jazzed that Ellen DeGeneres is coming on as a judge; maybe we won't fast-forward through that part anymore.
• Parenthood (NBC): This family dramedy suffered some setbacks when original star Maura Tierney contracted cancer and had to drop out. But now, former Gilmore Girl Lauren Graham has stepped into the role, pretty much ensuring this show will be the best thing ever. Based on the 1989 Ron Howard film, the show follows the dysfunctional happenings of an extended family, which include Graham, Peter Krause and Mae Whitman. And since Parenthood is in the hands of Friday Night Lights' Jason Katims, we're not even put off by the inclusion of Dax Shepard.
• America's Next Top Model (CTV, Winter 2010): Now that the shorty season - sorry, cycle - of ANTM is over, Tyra can finally get back to pretending her show has anything to do with real fashion. Not that any winner of this show, tall or not, goes on to any real success, but if Tyra Banks wants America's Next Top Model to have any semblance of credibility, bringing in short girls isn't going to do it. And, to be fair, it's more fun to watch tall girls yell at each other. Don't ask us why; it just is.
• Breaking Bad (AMC, March 2010): The second season of this AMC series was one of the most heartbreaking things we've ever seen; while the first season suggested that Walter might go back to his old, non-drug-dealing life if his cancer went away, Season 2 proved that he has no intention of doing that. By the end of Season 2, Walter had turned into a full-blown monster, essentially killing a girl who got in his way and inadvertently causing a plane to crash, killing dozens of others. Of course, he didn't go completely unpunished: His wife finally realized he'd been lying to her - about everything - and left him. We have no idea what's going to happen next, but we're sure Breaking Bad and star Bryan Cranston are going to blow us away with Season 3.
• Glee (April 13, 2010): In our opinion, the fall finale of Glee was pretty much perfect. Everything was tied up, the musical numbers were awesome and Sue Sylvester continued to be evil, even though she got her comeuppance. While some viewers are wondering if there's anything left to bring viewers back in April, clearly, they don't understand just how wonderful this show is, and how much we love doing jazz hands while sitting on our couches.
• Lost (Feb. 2, 2010): The final season of Lost is almost upon us, which means we might finally get some darned answers. Is Locke really dead? Who's that impersonating him? What happened to Claire? What's up with the smoke monster, the four-toed statue and, well, everything? The writers have promised some closure, and they'd certainly better deliver, or they're going to have a mob of angry Lost fans storming their houses with torches. Not that we're advocating that, of course.
