Prime Minister Stephen Harper is returning to Prince Edward Island, The Guardian has learned.

The Conservative leader will hold a rally Sunday morning in Stratford. That’s in the riding of Cardigan where Conservative Mike Currie is battling Liberal Lawrence MacAulay in hopes of ending MacAulay’s 23-year hold on the eastern P.E.I. riding.

This will be Harper’s second time on the Island. He held a rally in Malpeque April 1.

The Conservatives are rolling out a series of big guns in Cardigan. Finance Minister Jim Flaherty was in the riding on Monday. Fisheries Minister Gail Shea was there on Tuesday.

Defence Minister Peter MacKay is touring the riding today.

Leaving the Liberals in power may be self serving but in the long run counter productive.

Obviously the tories have a poll that shows Mike Currie is close but probably down around 2-3%, otherwise Harper would never come to that riding on the last day of the campaign. I am surprised that Mike Curries agreed to the visit, probably won't get him any additional votes and could end up being a net loss in votes, Harper doesn't play well in part of the Country.

This shows that Currie is liked and Harper will listen to him. Voting Currie in will be a win win for all of PEI. Dont miss our chance Eastern PEI vote Currie.

A vote for Mike Curry is a vote to end democracy. Look at Harpers record please, he is not interested in the Maritimes, or don't you remember saying as much. Mr. Curry will be another lame duck back bencher with no voice, and if he votes against the PM he will be gone. Don't be fooled by this guy your future really does depend on a Harper defeat

    Tories From Tignish to Souris

With the major push on for Cardigan it looks like a Possible Tory Sweep. Shea is in with great increased majority. Easter is seeing his support soften, shift wan fade away or, simply, stay at home. Ogilivie can win in Malpeque. Easter's Second House Affair could be a mortal body blow to. The erstwhile benefactor of the Jack Layton wave is Joe Byne, he is very likely to have enough vote from the Liberal candidate to assure Sheila Proft a seat in Ottawa. A Tory sweep may well be the new reality come Monday morning on PEI.

Mike Currie, Pat Binns and Polar Foods. Currie and the island Tories have quite the legacy.

They want this seat. Mike Currie is a doer! If he was still in power, we wouldn't be in this mess of lies in Souris. Thank You Lawrence but in all reality, you have already been retired for 2 years. How many votes in Ottawa did you actually attend.

Actually, the reason Souris is in this mess is BECAUSE of Mr. Currie. No one else.

Is the general public welcome or just pre-screened supporters with a few minorities placed in photo op areas? How about questions, will the Prime Minister finally answer some questions or is he just here to make it look like he cares about Atlantic Canada, this "culture of defeat" as he thinks of us. Oh well at least he knows where PEI is the month before an election.

It is called running a smart campaign. Everyone knows Liebrals love to attend Conservative events and make smart a$$ comments trying to get the P.M buckle. Until, the rest of PEI gets on board, I hope the majority of PEI's federal money goes to CABINET MINISTER gail Shea's riding. I cant believe anyone on PEI would vote Liebral seeing how your provincial Govt is mileading you. And NDP, Cap and Trade A.K.A Carbon tax. If you like paying more for gas, food and evreything else, vote NDP. And what ever disposable income you have left, they will take that and put it into social programs that you havent even heard of.
