The Olympics is something that anyone, no matter where they are in the world can appreciate and be inspired by. The Olympics show everyone that no matter who you are, you can achieve great things as long as you work hard at it. You don't only have to be into sports to be able to take that away from the Olympics. You can yes, achieve fitness goals with hard work but also good marks in school, budget goals, personal goals; the list goes on and on! The Olympics also show that you shouldn't care what others think. Life is about doing the things you love. You should never let anyone get in the way of the things that make you happy because at the end of the day it's only you. The Olympics inspire Canadians to join together to support our athletes and encourage them to win gold for our country. Canadians can all enjoy cheering for their country’s athletes as they watch them compete against other countries and feel a sense of pride in unison when Canada does well. Another message the Olympics give to people is to never give up. Never give up because no matter where you come from, your race, age, gender or background; you are able to accomplish great things when you put the work into it. Heather Moyse is a fantastic idol that all Islanders can relate to and be inspired by because of her being from Summerside. She never gave up, gave one hundred and ten percent into the things she did and followed her dreams, leading her to win two gold medals for Canada and if that isn't inspirational, I don't know what is.
