Valerie Duguay

Every 4 years, there's a ceremony that brings the world together. Some people dream of walking into the arena, wearing the colors of their countries, to make their hometowns shine bright and to live an amazing experience with people who have lived for the same moment as you. Weather you get first place, or last place, weather you play hockey or ski fast down a hill, you are a athlete. Watching the Canadian women win hockey in overtime, and see the sisters win silver and gold made me proud of my country, I would love to play more winter sports. I can figure skate, I can ski and I can always attempt to skating in hockey skates but either way I think that it's great that kids are not only active in the summer but also in the winter. The Sochi 2014 Olympics inspired me to try hard and to try to improve in winter activities that I would really enjoy participating in, maybe next winter I can catch up on my figure skating and to have fun on the slops with my friends.
