This year's sixth annual Jack Frost Children's WinterFest in Charlottetown will be extended to four days, including Monday, Feb. 15, which coincides with Islander Day.
This year's theme, Catch the Olympic Spirit, will turn the Confederation Landing Park into P.E.I.'s version of the Winter Olympics.
Made from 70 tonnes of compacted snow, there will be all sorts of winter wonders to discover, while returning favourites are the Technomedia Jungle Gym, the CAT Sled Run and various slides.
Myrtle Jenkins-Smith, CEO of Tourism Charlottetown and the P.E.I. Convention Partnership, says organizers are excited to add Monday as the festival's fourth day.
She said that since it will be Islander Day, organizers thought it fitting to offer admission to the Bell Aliant Snow Kingdom on Monday for a flat fee of $5.
Last year, more than 10,000 children and adults passed through the gates.
New this year is StreetAnthem which will marry the action sport culture with street level arts and music, incorporating a DJ main stage with an eye-popping, urban-rail-arena for both DJs and riders to battle for bragging rights and cash.
Topping off each festival day will be a display of fireworks to light up the Confederation Landing Park. The fireworks will be choreographed to music and presented by the Red Shores Racetrack and Casino.
The all-new Bell Aliant Snow Kingdom is the home of the 2010 Jack Frost.
Snow sculptors from across the globe will compete in the fifth annual snow sculpting competition presented by Air Canada.
Snow artisans will use their talents and imagination to create winter works of art. Winners of this elite competition will receive cash prizes for first and second place as well as fans' choice.
Back by popular demand, and fitting with the Olympic theme, are The Flying Canucks. Past, present and future Olympians from the sports of freestyle skiing, moguls snowboard and trampoline will entertain audiences daily. The performances are staged off of a 40-foot mobile ski ramp and trampolines.
There will also be a number of indoor venues on the Jack Frost Express.
The CIBC Indoor Playland at the Charlottetown Civic Centre will feature inflatable attractions and favourite carnival rides plus video gaming favourites and the Atlantic Superstore Petting Zoo.
A second Indoor venue, at The Shops of Confederation Court Mall will host the Princess Pretty Boutique, Superhero Training Camp, along with a display of events, activities and
shows by the Discovery Centre, including the Lego Roller Coaster, Indoor
Planetarium and much more. The Care Bears will be in action on the Pepsi Live Indoor Stage at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
For those with a craving for something a little more prehistoric, Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs is sure to delight, said Jenkins-Smith.
Trius Tours and Downtown Charlottetown will once again run the complimentary Jack Frost Express Shuttle between all Jack Frost venues and official Jack Frost hotels.
Popular returning festival favourites include outdoor buskers and costumed children's characters, horse and sleigh rides presented by the City of Charlottetown, Kent Building Supplies' Magical Outdoor Skating Rink, CTV's professional snow- and ice-sculpting demonstrations with the Canadian snow sculpture team, and the warm-up tent.
Tickets to the Jack Frost Children's WinterFest are now on sale.

Yes there ARE Children/Tweens/Teens who don't even have an extra $5 to attend Islander Days-especially on the 15th of
