Transportation Minister Ron MacKinley and Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Egmont MP Gail Shea break ground to start construction on the Charlottetown perimeter highway expansion project on Riverside Drive.

The project is being cost shared by the two levels of government through Build PEI and the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund.

The highway will be expanded to four lanes between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Irving near the Hillsborough Bridge.

Improvements will also be made to the Exhibition Drive and Garfield Street intersections as well as the Northridge/St. Peter's Road intersection.

A second section of highway in Stratford will also be expanded to four lanes.

My oh my. Where to start.... A huge pile of cheeze doesn't even begin to describe it.

PEI politicians haven't changed one bit. Have these two ever thought about not spending a cent and paying down debt? Guess not.... Iagine, spending taxpayers money on asphalt projects like drunken thieves. They'll have potholes in that road inside of 10 years. Meanwhile our healthcare system is in serious decline and young people are shunning this province.

But what a photo that pair makes!

After the expansions open up, we will be left with a legacy of the Liberals, going in circles chasing one's tail , I don't know why overpasses couldn't have been thought of instead of these stupid round-abouts, I epect there will be many accidents and the circles will be too small for tractor trailers, again!
