Terre Rouge restaurant on Queen Street in Charlottetown.
One Prince Edward Island eatery has made its way into the top 100 list of best restaurants in the country.
Canada's 100 Best Restaurants guide, which was published March 1, ranked Terre Rouge in Charlottetown as the 86th best place to dine.
The 2016 list was chosen by a panel of judges that included such chefs as Lynn Crawford, Mark McEwan and David Lee as well as restaurateurs, gourmets and food journalists.
"It’s a great list – a really accurate measure of quality, coast-to-coast, over a year in dining time," editor Jacob Richler said in an article accompanying the list.
The top five picks by the judges are Toqué! in Montreal, Buca Yorkville in Toronto, Hawksworth Restaurant in Vancouver, Joe Beef in Montreal, Le Vin Papillon in Montreal and newcomer to the scene, Dandylion in Toronto.
The only restaurant in the Maritimes to crack the top 50 is Edna in Halifax, N.S., which placed 49th. Other eateries in the region are Field Guide in Halifax (52); Fleur de Sel in Lunenburg, N.S. (65) and Port City Royal in Saint John, N.B. (74).
