Intellectual property session planned at UPEI

Three Oaks Innovations at UPEI, in co-operation with the P.E.I. BioAlliance and ITAP, will be hosting an information session on intellectual property for researchers and companies.

It will be held at the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre at the UPEI campus from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Trevor Newton, partner and patent agent with Gowlings, will be presenting a seminar on understanding IP and integrating a patent srategy into academic or industry research programs.

A news release says the session will be beneficial to academic and industry, as it will cover several areas of intellectual property (IP) including patents, trademarks and copyrights.

Interested participants should register by Aug. 19.
