Federal, provincial governments commit $166,000 to carry out Island Advance Task Force project
The Greater Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce has been will begin an Island-wide project over the course of the year focusing on improved economic development in Prince Edward Island.
The project, which grew out of findings by the Island Advance Task Force, is getting $120,911 from the federal government through ACOA and another $45,354 from Innovation P.E.I.
‚ÄúWe are very pleased that our public sector partners have lent their support to the Island Advance Task Force Project,‚ÄĚ said task force chairman Ron Keefe in a news release. ‚ÄúWe encourage the private sector to take the lead and implement the action plan in order to further our Prince Edward Island economy.‚ÄĚ
The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce will undertake a number of activities under three pillars: embracing entrepreneurship; improving access to capital; and attracting, integrating and retaining skilled and entrepreneurial immigrants.
