Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood
MONTAGUE – The voice of a campaign that solved a community crisis in Nova Scotia will be the guest speaker here at the upcoming awards banquet of the Eastern P.E.I. chamber of commerce.
Pam Mood, the mayor of Yarmouth, was a key speaker at the Georgetown Conference earlier this month and her inspiring presentation promoted an "All Hands on Deck" concept for everyone in her community.
She will be the guest speaker at the business awards dinner sponsored by the Eastern P.E.I. chamber of commerce on Nov. 21.
“Her mantra was we all need to pull together to help revitalize the town of Yarmouth which lost their ferry service in 2002,’’ said chamber director Wallace Rose. “Mayor Mood was instrumental in securing ferry service once again for the town beginning in 2014 and in bringing her community and local business together.
“Doing nothing was not an option.”
The chamber is hosting the seventh annual business awards banquet being held at the Riverhouse Inn in Montague. Awards are being presented for business of the year and tourism operator of the year.
The EPEICC is also awarding the Montague Rotary Club and the Gold Mine lottery with the Community Recognition Award, said Rose, for all the good work the Rotary Club has done for Eastern P.E.I. For more information on this year's awards banquet, visit http://epeicc.ca/site/awards-banquet
