Think your business idea is good enough to survive the Dragons? You might have your chance today.

Open auditions for the show take place today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at CBC P.E.I.

Dragons’ Den is an unscripted TV program where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to a panel of wealthy Canadian business moguls. A successful pitch can earn a real investment from the Dragons’ own pockets. A few Island companies have made pitches on the show over the last two years, including Ooka Island and Honibe.

Each entrepreneur has five minutes to pitch their idea to the Dragons’ Den producers. A successful audition means facing the Dragons when they film the latest season in Toronto.

No experience is necessary and participants of all ages are encouraged to audition.

The current season of Dragons' Den can be seen Sundays at 8 p.m. on CBC Television and has averaged over 1.4 million viewers per week.

The show's producers started touring in January, with over 40 stops planned across the country.

Additional tour dates from coast to coast are listed online at:

That's OK, it isn't an audition for DD, it's to float ideas to see who the government of PEI is going to give money to, under better terms than private investors offer. They will go to the show with ACOA money in their pocket.

I wonder who's paying for all this travelling across the country by these multi-millionaires and the crew that goes with them? CBC? Then this means TAXPAYERS!

Gee Keith. In your brilliance did you factor in that the show actually is making money? No. Just an unfounded attack on the CBC. More braying from the right.
