SUMMERSIDE — Vector Aerospace Engine Services - Atlantic recently hosted a PT6A customer day event at its designated overhaul facility in Johannesburg, South Africa (Vector Aerospace Africa (Pty) Ltd).

The event was facilitated by Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC).

Vector Aerospace Engine Services - Atlantic is a leading provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

Jeff Poirier, president of Vector Aerospace Engine Services -Atlantic, says the PT6A Customer Day event was a huge success.

“The event was an excellent opportunity for existing and potential customers to learn more about the PT6A turboprop engine and meet with true turboprop experts,” said Poirier.

“We were very fortunate to have a representative from P&WC’s customer service team, along with members from Vector’s team on hand during the Customer Day to discuss the PT6A engine and to provide a complete overview of the engine’s operation and maintenance.”

Theo Prinsloo, military contracts manager with Execujet South Africa, says he enjoyed the opportunity to network with other people in the aircraft engine industry.

“I also received very positive feedback from technicians who were in attendance regarding the technical content provided during the day. I sincerely congratulate Vector Aerospace for hosting such a terrific event.”

Vector’s expansion into the African marketplace has been a key component in the company’s customer service growth strategy. The company has two strategically located facilities in Africa; a designated overhaul facility in Johannesburg, South Africa and a service center in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Johannesburg shop offers operators throughout the region complete overhaul services on many P&WC PT6A engines, and field service offerings on the P&WC JT15D and PW100 engine series while the Nairobi shop offers field service and engine line maintenance repairs on the P&WC PT6A and PW100 engine series.
