ALBERTON - Northport resident Paula Foley will manage Holland College’s West Prince campus.

Jake Baird, Vice-President and Chief Learning Officer for the college, announced Foley’s selection Tuesday.

Baird said Foley, a graduate of Holland College and UPEI, has a proven record of achievement in community, business, social and economic development. “I know that her expertese will serve the college and the community of West Prince well as we expand and strengthen our presence in the region,” he said.

The new centre is expected to be ready to receive students by September, 2011. Site work has commenced at the corner of Church and Main Streets in Alberton.

"The creation of a new Holland College Campus provides an exciting opportunity for the residents of Western P.E.I.,” Foley said.
The college has scheduled an information evening for Thursday, September 16, at the Alberton Community Centre. It’s an opportunity for the public to meet the new manager and to learn about the programs to be offered at the West Prince Centre next fall.

The information evening will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Foley has worked as a private consultant for the past seven years. During that time she has been working on rural development projects, writing funding proposals, conducting labour market studies, and recruiting, hiring and managing staff. Prior to that, she was project manager for Northport Development Inc., and was a business development officer for Enterprise PEI for 10 years.
