As I prepare to go to the Honour Service this evening conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion. To celebrate and honour the life of Thomas Hunter. I am moved to think of what he, my father and many other fathers and grandfathers did for us. In order that we could enjoy a life in Canada and the UK with free choice and free elections. The right to have an opinion and not be jailed for it. The right to freedom of expression, a myriad of freedoms that we take for granted daily. That is what Tom Hunter and others fought for. I thank him and his brothers in arms for all that they did for me and ultimately for my children and grandchildren. I read in a comment that he loved to dance, that is a lovely story, I am sure that there are many other things he loved in this life, especially his wife Eileen of 67 years and his children and grandchildren. They may mourn his passing, but down the road there will be many happy memories of him and things that they did together. Farewell Tom Hunter. 1919-2010
