www.invisiblearmycanada.ca Asks this question every time a Flag draped casket is returned to CFB.Trenton

How many grieving mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, family and friends must line the tarmac of Canadian Forces Base Trenton and bear witness to the sacrifices of their loved ones?

The war in Afghanistan was launched with lofty ideals and unrealistic goals.Sadly, after nearly a decade at war, those lofty goals and ideals have yet to materialize, and Canada has a growing list of grieving families to show for their efforts. Unfortunately, Canada is not alone.as our NATO and other allies lose young soldiers on behalf of Democracy for a poor terrorised country..

It is hard to believe that 4 1/2 years ago, I approached Gary McDougall Editor of the Guardian in Charlottetown

,My intent was to write a weekly column of military chatter between Islanders and the members of PEI Regt. who were on their first full deployment to Afghanistan. This turned into this military Blog. Once again I thank Gary and the Guardian for this opportunity to reflect upon our Military and their heritage in todays Canada.

I am filled with Pride at bringing military stories to you. Whether it be Afghanistan, Piracy on the open seas or Aid to the civil powers like Haiti. Our Military and RCMP members are a very patriotic and indeed proud members of the Canadian fabric as we know it. The comments to some stories prove this, by people supporting our troops. On the other hand biased or simply silly comments are also sent in. The negative comments are also the expression of some, who have this right due to the fact, that somewhere down the line in history a Soldier died to insure their freedom

Sadly I honour those who have paid the ultimate price, with news of repatriation and the journey along Canada's Highway of Heroes. My deepest heartfelt prayers and Condolences go out to each and every member of the soldiers Invisible Army and indeed his/her comrades in arms.

Sgt Martin Goudreault will be the latest soldier to travel this road today. May his family find strength in the show of support along this highway today.

Please show your Support for our military and their families.
