Sgt Keith Lawson RIP a fine member of the CORPS

Sadly we have lost another friend and brother of the Corps. A fellow member of the Corps announced this sad news on our website.

It is not without emotion that I make this entry on the RCASC site today.....I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend and comrade Sgt Keith Lawson, at Angus, Ontario, Saturday 25 April 2010....such a fine soldier, passionate RCASC member, and true friend joining the Advance Party far too early...To his Wife Fenna, Son Philip, and Daughter Jessie, and both their entended families June and I express our deepest and most heartfelt condolences at this difficult time in life.May He Rest In Peace....God Bless....Donnie

1962 a youthful Peacekeeper with 56 Tpt Coy RCASC UNEF1.

Keith was the epitome of a Canadian Peacekeeper, then with his years in Germany as part of 4 CIBG NATO in Soest. Where he met his beloved Fenna Brinkman. Herself the daughter of another Corps member. John Brinkman.

As a young soldier just one year out of the Apprentice program I met Keith in Germany. Although the same age He was considered an old soldier as he had UN Service Medal. He was always smiling and a pleasure to serve with.

Keith was an amiable soldier who had the utmost respect of his soldiers as he progressed through the ranks. In his retirement years he spent time organizing many RCASC Association events. A true man of the Corps.

To his wife Fenna and their children and grandchildren please remember this Keith was loved and respected by his fellow soldiers, and by everyone who crossed his path. A good man taken too early. Rest in Peace Keith your Duty done.

Memories are those wondrous tidbits of time that bring peace to your heart, laughter to your lips and tears to your eyes. Keith lawson was the finest soldier I ever served with. The memories of our friendship bring warm thoughts as I sit here at my keyboard. Over the years I have slept on his couch, eaten porridge at his table and found love, understanding and compassion within his family circle. Keith's service to his Country and comrades is an exemplary example of a life well used. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He his now part of the Advance Party. Love. Light and Peace Keith my brother. ~ Laurence E
