RIP your Duty Done.
It is with deep sadness I write todays Blog. A retired veteran Terry Firman of 33 Pl RCASC(A) passed away peacefully yesterday in Ottawa. Terry was a proud Apprentice, a proud soldier and a fine Canadian. He as many of us enlisted in the Soldier Apprentice Programme at the age of 16. Terry was a staunch supporter of the RCASC Apprentice Association and was our current President. here are some excerpts from the Corps site:
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Firman (33 Pl) on Wednesday, February 03, 2010 in Ottawa. Terry was the President of the RCASC(A) Association. The Association offers their deepest sympathy to Terrys family. Information regarding the funeral arrangements will be posted to the Forum as soon as they are available. We where truly saddened to hear of Terry Firman's passing. He was a true Comrade to all in the Corps and worked with diligence to keep the corps alive and funtioning. He was also a very active and in the centre of all discusions our Ottawa breakfast mornings. We have lost a very caring comrade and friend to the advance party. My wife Susan and I offer our most sincere condolances to the family of Terry. Terry and I were in the same input of the boy soldiers. He was in 33 platoon and I was in 34 platoon. After the apprentices we lost touch but reconnected through this web site. Good bye to a true friend Wayne Flaherty
Very saddened to hear of Terry Firmam's passing. Seemingly his upturn a couple of weeks ago didn't take hold. Rest in peace Terry. You've left us some big shoes to fill, but we'll try hard, in your name.
