Once again Canadians will line the route of the Highway of Heroes

Sergeant Faught was serving as a member of the Task Force 3-09 Battle Group.
May his Family find peace in their hearts as they see Canadians Care as they drive the path of Canada's Heroes. God Bless
I had the pleasure of listening to the MND and the CDS in the press conference at CFB.Valcartier. As they prepared to send off upwards of another 1000 Canadian Troops.General Walter Natynczyk gave a brief breakdown of our troops currently serving: 3000 in Afghanistan, 2000 in Haiti, 3000 more in preparation for spring Deployment to Afghanistan and a further 5000 for the Olympic Security. You could hear the pride in his voice as he told of the Volunteer spirit of all the Canadian Troops. Stirring words for our men and women in combat zones as well as those involved in this largest Humanitarian mission in our life times. The MND Peter MacKAy may be prorogued at the moment but he is hard at work with his troops.
To the Nay sayers who never have a good word for anyone, Why worry if Canadians are going to be operating out of the port of Jacmel. The entire country needs assistance with everything and Canada has been sent to this area, to rescue, to secure, to give Medical Aid, to operate Water treatment facilities and also open the port for ship access.
As the world tries to assist this nation of abject poverty and devastation. Canadians should be extremely proud of the Military, CIDA, aid agencies civilians RCMP police and firefighters once again putting their lives on the line for others.
All I ask is that you say a prayer for these brave men and women no matter what your religion or beliefs. Haiti needs help, Afghanistan needs help and Canada is at the fore front again.
Dozens of crew members from the Canadian naval vessels HMCS Athabaskan and HMCS Halifax have started coming ashore to help with relief efforts in two Haitian towns.
