Father Time Passes 2009 and Welcomes 2010

In a few hours Father time 2009 will relinquish his position to a New Year. The New year is represented by

Gabriel Mace Klos-McRobb son of Michael and Mareesha Portrayed as an inspiring Chef.Whom I wish nothing but peace and Happiness in his lifetime.

Who wishes all Canadians a Happy and Peaceful 2010.

As New Years once again has arrived, I pray for a better year for our forces, wherever they may be serving. During 2009 we lost far too many Canadians.

May they Never be Forgotten, may their loved ones find peace in the new year.

In the line of duty: Canada's casualties In the interests of space I have found that I cannot down load the photos or names ,units etc for all our casualties it is simply too large.

Unfortunately today the last day of 2009 we have another 4 Canadian Soldiers and a Canadian Journalist Casualty.

This Blog was to show our records of troops and civilian Canadians who have paid the ultimate price for Canada and for Freedom and Democracy.

You may View the lists at: http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/afghanistan/casualties/list.html

The Canadian Jornalist killed is fondly remembered

Slain journalist Lang fondly remembered 'She had drive to learn and drive to know' Last Updated: Thursday, December 31, 2009 | 3:50 AM PT Comments4Recommend17 CBC News

Vancouver-born Michelle Lang killed along with four Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan on Wednesday was an award-winning journalist whose career began at the Free Press newspaper in Prince George, B.C.

Frank Peebles, now a reporter with the Prince George Citizen, had the difficult job Wednesday night of writing about the death of Lang, 34, a friend and former colleague.

Peebles said the two worked together in 1995 at the Free Press, where Lang had a memorable stint as a summer intern.

She was so good, Peebles told CBC News, that the editor convinced her to stay instead of going back to school and convinced all the people in the newsroom, including our bosses, to keep her on as staff.

Peebles said it was clear Lang would go far in journalism.

She had drive to learn and drive to know, from a moment-to-moment, issue-to-issue kind of basis to the vast and detailed minutiae of any subject that she put her mind to.

He said Lang's curiosity was matched by her kindness. 'Caring and compassionate'

When I was really sick, she would come and bring me soup and ginger ale, that kind of thing. [She was] very caring and compassionate.

After Prince George, Lang would move on to jobs at daily newspapers in Moose Jaw, Regina and then the Calgary Herald, where she won a National Newspaper Award last May for her coverage of health care and medicine.

Lang and the four soldiers were killed when the armoured vehicle they were in was hit by an explosive device in the city of Kandahar.

The reporter was engaged to a Calgary man, with a wedding planned for July 2010.

Her family in Vancouver was reported to be out of the country and not available for comment.

On this saddest of news I close this Blog for 2009. May the Lord watch over our troops wherever they may be. His kindness and blessings to the families and loved ones of those Killed today. Amen

Remember Everyone Deployed
