Friday / Saturday headlines re: Canadian troops

Another unfortunate incident in war torn Afghanistan. A motorcyclist and his passenger were shot for accelerating when ordered to STOP. You would think by now that the Locals would know and understand the Hand and Voice signals to stop.. Canadian Troops are extremely professional and I am certain they only fired when all other means of stopping a suspected weapon Carrying insurgent were used. Unfortunately in the heat of the moment all of these signals and instructions occur in rapid sequence. It is sad that supposedly 2 innocents died. But it is a country in the midst of a serious insurgency. I for one would rather this happen than another young Canadian being transported home in a casket.

Canadians on watch

Canadians on Training

The difference in the two photos is that unkknowns may be lurking with real ammunition, and or suicide vests in photo one.

Well done Canadians for protecting locals and yourselves.

The other headline that twigged was of a Chopper going on a food run in Northern Ontario.I see nothing wrong with this. If it was a Long distance trucker who was hungry there would be no headline.

Is it better that a pilot, goes hungry and crashes a chopper. I think not. These men were on a refuelling stop that means man and machine. Well done Chopper crew.

Now this w/e as youenjoy sleep in a comfortable bed, get up and brush your teeth in the comfort of a modern bathroom, and shave in a lit mirror with hot water take a look at what our troops put up with in the name of freedom for all of us..

No Comfy Beds

No Vanity or sink to Brush teeth

Shaving in the sandy enviroment

So loyal readers please take a moment to put your self in our troops boots for a moment.

Finally Sadness in the UK with Remembrance Services 40 years after the disatrous fire on board HMCS Kootenay may they RIP and to the survivors may they live long and relish the happy memories of shipboard life.

Remember Everyone Deployed
