Stars and Stripes Newspaper coverage of Van Doos..Soldats bien faits du Canada

Love them or loathe them, our US Allies have great coverage of two incidents the VanDoos were responsible for this week. I for one cannot say that I saw any of these stories in any Canadian Media Coverage. These stories were well covered in the Stars and Stripes.

Stars and Stripes, the U.S. Military's Independent News Source: Thursday, August 13, 2009

Please click Link or cut and paste excellent coverage of our Soldiers daily work in Afghanistan.

The stories are titled taliban Mortar Team and Ink Spot Canada.

As our troops fight in this arid land to gain freedom and democracy for the Afghan people. I cannot but reflect on the high cost of Canadian and NATO lives. Soldiers from free democratic countries are in the face of the taliban on a daily basis. We must be proud of these soldiers and the Airmen and Sailors who are putting their lives on the line daily. Courage comes in many forms from the firefighter entering a burning building, to the police chasing down armed criminals. Our soldiers have to contend with all of these things as well as worry about their loved ones at home. So on this RED FRIDAY. I would like to take that extra moment for a prayer or a thought for all of our troops. Also for the Wives, Husbands, Children, Mothers, Fathers and loved ones who remain at home in silent vigil for the safe return of a loved one. Canada's Invisible Army

I leave you with my favourite photo for Red Friday and again with the question is this Soldier arriving or departing. God Bless them all.

It looks as if the writer was given the details of an incident and he then crafted it into a story.
He could have left out the reference to WP as it's use is a bit controversial.
