One week countdown to the Red Rally in Charlottetown

2 current stories of Veterans.

Good day one and all.I hope to see you on the streets and roads today wearing Red to support our troops. I received two e mails this week from concerned readers. I wish to share these with you.

First from Calgary 92 year old Veteran of the Dieppe raids, wounded and taken prisoner for 3 1/2 years. I s being charged the outlandish sum of $700 for per day for Care. This only 2 weeks after the D Day celebrations where politicians thet were to young to be in tthe war. Revelled in the Photo Ops and great publicity being seen with Veterans. Not that that was not important to our Vets, but this case in the Toronto Sun will give you the whole story. I forwarded it to 2 Senators, the Min Vets Affairs the MND and the PM. Just to show my outrage and my concern for this decorated veteran. Mr Paul Parkin.Paul Parkin, 92, in his hospital room at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital in Ontario, Wednesday, June 17, 2009. The Second World War veteran has been given notice that he will be charged $700 per day for his accommodations there. Here is the full story:

The second story concerns the Vet who sent his UN and NATO medals back to the Governor General, as he feels that the clawback of Military and RCMP pensions is unlawful. The Supreme Court of Canada will now hear his case Good Luck.Full Story:

It is disgracefull the way our veterans are being treated. This also includes our current Veterans both wounded and non wounded returning to Canada. This in a week when we have had two soldiers repatriated in flag draped caskets.

So once again I ask everone who can make it next Friday the 26th June. Please join Charlene and her team of Volunteers at the memorial Park Grafton Street at 1130. Think of our troops far away and in dangerous areas.
