Pte. Alexandre (Pelo) Peloquin , 20, of the 3e Bataillon, Royal 22e Regiment, was based at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier near Quebec City
Les frres et soeurs dans les bras pleurent la mort, d'un de leurs propres. Peut Dieu le garder dans le coffre-fort de ciel du Mal.
Another young soldier loses his life, while trying to clear an area of IED's for the local Afghan People. Pte Peloquin had been part of a clearance patrol in the panjawe district over the past six days. He and his fellow soldiers had located and disarmed over a 100 ied's.Then Monday they had cleared and made safe a further 15. When a sudden explosion shattered the heat and quiet of the area. Pte Peloquin was med evaced immediately to the Kandahar hospital. The surgical trauma teams worked to save his life. Unfortunately his injuries were too massive and he died.
These young Canadians put their lives on the line every minute of every hour of every day.It is with great sadness to lose even one.
The Royal 22 Regiment will carry on with their duties as the professionals that they are. However it will be with heavier hearts at the loss of one of their own. Peloquin is survived by his Mother Monique.
To his Mother,Father, brothers in arms and loved ones at home in Quebec our prayers and condolences, soon he will be home to rest. Another Soldier has been stood down.
Brig.-Gen. Jonathan Vance, said This young man sacrificed his life for a greater cause; he believed in his role as a soldier and his dedication to the overall mission was truly outstanding, Vance also said.Alexandre was proud to be a soldier. He will be missed.
Please have a thought or say a prayer for Pte Peloquin and his comrades in arms. Please show your support for all our troops.
