A sad but ironic day for the Head female of the Afghanistan National Police.Lt.-Col. Malali Kakar was killed on the Canadian national day of Mourning for police officers who have been killed.
This horrific slaying of such a brave woman shows the low cowardlyness of the taliban, fearing this woman, and indeed all womankind.
Lt.-Col. Malali Kakar joined the Afghan police at the age of 14, however when the taliban ruled Afghanistan she fled to Pakistan. Here she studied and awaited the departure of the taliban from her country. When the NATO alliance chased the taliban cowards out she returned and took up her chosen role as a police officer. She rose steadily as a top detective and investigator.
Her work angered Taliban insurgents, who frequently attack projects, schools and businesses run by women. She received many threatening night letters and phone calls. Her work angered Taliban insurgents, who frequently attack projects, schools and businesses run by women. She received many threatening night letters and phone calls. Surviving a previous talban assassination attempt she shot 3 of the cowards in a firefight. This police woman will remain as a progressive women for the young Afghani females who are now seeking careers to manage their lives. One of Canada's finest authors Sally Armstrong is quoted as saying in acbc interview.
Sally Armstrong, a Canadian writer of books about Afghan women, described Kakar as a very effective police officer.
There is violence in almost every single Afghan home and she was dealing with that, Armstrong said. The Taliban are cutting down the very people who can turn this country around.
Kakar, her husband and their six children lived in a protected compound in Kandahar. And while she wore a regular police uniform at work, she wore a burka when she visited Kandahar's markets to avoid being recognized.
Ma this heroic woman Rest in Peace and may her legacy grow with the women of Afghanistan.
