HMCS Charlottetown was featured on Last Nights CBC report, dubbed the Silent Service
As a boy one of my favourite TV shows was called the Silent Service it was all about Submarines. However this piece of trivia does not take away from the duties of the Hard working Crew of this vessel. The CBC showed their latest tour of Duty in the Gulf. The Canadian navy is highly regarded by the allies as a professional service. The specialised boarding teams face danger each time they deploy to intercept a suspected terror ship. They are indeed the modern day Sherrifs of the sea. Canadian Naval personnel have the highest rate of interceptions of all the allies. So please remember it is not always Afghanistan, Sudan where Canadians are doing their job, of protecting both Canada's and world interests.
At home port just now they are once again providing Canadians with a different type of service.
The sixth annual Run4Wishes starts tomorrow Tuesday the 5th of August. A team of runners from the ship are once again running the red soil of PEI on behalf of the Childrens Wish Foundation.
Well done sailors Thankyou for your Service to Canada at Sea and thankyou for taking the time to Run for the Children. Bravo Zulu
Please remember that the first annual National Peace keepers day is on August 9th. 2008
