64 Years ago today the Canadians and Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy. A day in History a day to remember the men who fought and lost their lives on those beaches. A day to say Thankyou to to all the men who fought in the war for us.
Today 64 years later another Canadian Soldier who paid the ultimate price is repatriated to Canada. Thankyou for your service and sacrifice Capt RS Leary of 2 PPCLI. Another day to remember and reflect.

The sixth of June also brings me to the main crux of this Blog article. If I were the Judge Charlottetown aiming to catch park vandals
On Wednesday night, vandals spray-painted graffiti on almost every structure in Victoria Park, the city's largest park, including windows. The veteran's memorial was also damaged. City staff found poppy plants and shrubs pulled from the memorial, and magnolia and ash trees were stripped of some branches. Liquor and pop bottles were tossed all over the square.
If I were a judge and the moronic, ignorant defacers of a military memorial were brought before me. I would have no hesitation in immediately sentencing them to the following.
Wear red overalls to support the troops, shackle them, name and shame them, parade them to all memorials on this Island and have them clean and tidy the entire area for 50 yards around each and every memorial. At the end of each day of this 90 day sentence. They would attend classes for two hours explaining to them the meaning of these memorials. No days off for so called good behaviour, no TV, no Video games. Just daily work and penance for their crime and moronic behaviour. If I were the judge.
