With the story of our CDS retiring, it is with a sad heart I speak of this young Dutch Soldier the son of the Dutch CDS( Equivalent) Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, loved ones and brothers in arms of these young NATO troops. Son of newly appointed Dutch military chief among 2 dead in Afghanistan

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - The Dutch military says the son of the newly appointed armed forces commander was among two Dutch soldiers killed in a roadside bomb explosion in Afghanistan.

Military spokesman Lt.-Gen. Freek Meulman says there is no evidence to indicate that 23-year-old Dennis van Uhm was targeted in the explosion. He was a first lieutenant.

Gen. Peter van Uhm assumed his job as the Netherlands' top military commander on Thursday. Two more Dutch soldiers were wounded in the blast early Friday. One was in critical condition.

There was an incident with an improvised explosive device, also known as a roadside bomb, in which two Dutch soldiers were killed and two others severely wounded, spokesman Mark Vandewatering said

Dutch Soldier of ISAF.

As yet another two young soldiers move to the advance party. I as both a Canadaian and retired soldier reflect on the afghan mission? As many Canadians I feel that this so called WAR should be ended. We must support our troops and allies, BUT Politicians of all nations should be striving toward a diplomatic peaceful solution to this conflict. Instead of the party sniping at one another, forget petty insignifigant political problems from years ago, Royal Commissions, Ethics Committees, Please resolve these Global Issues and return Canadians to their loved ones.

Please show your support for the troops.
