" Tuesday's Question Period"

In my years working in Ottawa The daily Question Period was something to look forward too. The cut and thrust of our elected politicians discussing Canadian problems and sometimes even gaining some laughter was /is part of our heritage.

Yesterdays was an abomination toward our troops. Pacifist Jack Layton pointing his finger angrily and spitting out venemous allegations against the current Government and our troops. Does this man not understand that what information the US, UK,Holland and any other NATO allies release is their business. Why do we Canadians at home need to know tactical numbers of detainees in Afghanistan. Let the soldiers , soldier on. support them don't look for unfounded abuse charges. Our troops are Proud Honest and Professional.

The Liberals also sounded very much like children asking again and again, about detainees. They sounded very much like spoiled children. Both parties seem to have their own personal CSIS section that tells them of phone calls between Generals and Prime Ministers. Shake your collective heads Dion, Layton, Barbeau to mention a few.

As a proud Canadian I believe in the safety and security of the troops. What information they deem to release to the public is up to them. Politicians do not operate on the ground in the theatre of operations.

A very disappointing bunch of so called politicians primarily on the opposition benches. Should ask their constituents what they wish to hear about this conflict. Not spout off like Layton..... Canadians want to know?? How many Canadians has he asked??? I for one do not my MP to ask such drivel. I trust the military and fully support them.

So Parliament let's get back together as Canadians and ask pertinent questions. Not rubbish.

Excellent article. It is well written with a lot of heart.I couldn't have said it any better.Dion and Layton are so out of touch. Both know nothing about military matters.Sad to say, the both of them are just trying to score some very cheap political points.Just ask both of them how they would feel, that if we pulled out of Afghanistan and the Taliban moved back in, and started to rape, torture, murder and be-head innocent men, women and children, what would they do?.........Answer?...... Absolutely nothing. They don't care about the people of Afghanistan nor terrorism. How do I know?....because I asked them and they both refused to reply.
