Farewell to another Young Canadian Soldier, Les Canadiens Portent le deuil !!

Canadian soldier killed, 1 injured in Afghanistan A soldier from Quebec was killed and another Canadian soldier was injured Tuesday in a roadside bomb attack in southern Afghanistan, the military said.

Trooper Richard Renaud (DND)

Trooper Richard Renaud, 26, from Alma north of Quebec City, was killed in the explosion, Laroche said. He was a member of the Valcartier-based 12e Rgiment blind du Canada, which can be informally translated as the 12th Canadian Armoured Regiment. (The unit has no formal English name.)

L'explosion est arrive environ 7h15 heure locale pendant une patrouille de routine dans le district Arghandab de province de Kandahar, environ 10 kilomtres au nord de la ville de Kandahar, le Brig.-gnral que Guy Laroche a dit l'arodrome de Kandahar.

Le gendarme Richard Renaud, 26, d'Alma au nord de la Ville Qubcoise, a t tu dans l'explosion, Laroche a dit. Il tait un membre du Valcartier-fonds 12e Rgiment blind du le Canada, qui peut tre en tenue dcontracte traduit comme le 12me Rgiment Blind canadien. (L'unit n'a aucun nom anglais formel.)

    It is nice to see the respect for the fallen warriors here. There are other news papers that have let free for alls debate the politics over the mission in stead of observing and repecting the grief of the families. My deepest condolences to the family and it is time for this brave warrior to rest his duty complete.
