As we start 2008 with the repatriation of Gunner Dion to Canada, I pray that this will be the final Ramp Ceremony that Canadians have to experience. May the piupers play only joyful tunes in this New Year.
Our hard working dedicated professional troops are continuing their fight against the taliban, to protect not only Afghanis but to eradicate a world threat of mindless terrorism. In this New Year I feel that we must provide the troops with all the means necessary to carry out their duties. Not only with equipment but with a GREATER Showing of support from the civilian population. Politics aside we are in Afghanistan for the duration and we wish no more lives to be lost.
If the Koran preaches peace between men then perhaps one or two of the more radical imans will re-read the writings and move toward a peaceful solution to this conflict. Much has been said over the past year in all forms of media and conversation , about the Radicals of Religion. These so called scholars of Islam are ignorant of the facts of daily life in this the 21st century.Preach happiness and peacefulness not hatred and terror.
As for the mentally challenged suicide bombers of the future ask yourself WHY does your Iman not become a bomber??? It is simple.....He sits in a state of well fed, well kept ignorance of you and your families.
May God Allah or whoever bring peace and happiness in 2008.
