Military Blog Site - with Robby McRobb Blog

Headlines, Good, Bad & Indifferent

There certainly is no shortage of headlines concerning Afghanistan and our troops and the current mission.

NDP Critic Dawn Black accuses the Military of preparing the speech for Afghan President Hamid Karzai. When will this disillusioned NDP'er realise that her role is to assist the Military not shoot it down. Whether the military provided statistics or not to the President to assist him with getting things in the correct perspective for his speech, is between the Military, Foreign Affairs and of course the Afghan President. Ms Black is in the unfortunate position of belonging to a party which will never form a Government in Canada and she is clutching at straws to make her name known.SHAME

Next Afghan people shouting Down with Canada this nonsense from a Taliban controlled village is absurdity of the highest order. Canadian Troops do not kidnap people during the night and execute them BOTTOM LINE!! Canada lost another soldier there earlier this week and five more wounded, trying to help these people...who will take whatever is handed to them freely and then denounce the givers. They should have learned, that had they shouted down the Evil Taliban shots would have rung out and many would have been killed and wounded. They must learn the old western saying. Do Not Bite the Hand That Feeds You!! SHAME

Captain Trevor Greene was wounded last year with an axe to the head by a crazed Afghani / Taliban. He is slowly recovering in a Hospital in Alberta. His medical expenses are covered by the DND, however as many of you are aware there are a great deal of peripheal costs, family visits, travel costs etc. They wish to purchase a special needs Laptop that the Captain may use in his rehabilitation. I feel it would be a nice gesture by CANEX, The Military Families Support Centres,or The Canadian Legion's across Canada to chip in and purchase same for Captain Greene. HONOUR
