Stay the Course PM Harper

Good day faithful followers of this BLOG.

Prime Minister Harper must now take the time to listen carefully to the majority of Canadians.....Do we stay the course beyond Feb 2009 ??

Do we retreat in 2009 ? ? ? I know that he will be listening carefully to everything he hears from citizens. So please feel free to leave your comments and I will send this unofficial survey to Ottawa.

Some NATO countries are again wavering Angela Merkell for one is having a great deal of difficulty with her Government wishing the return of German Troops.

Although not a NATO Member but a Commonwealth member Australia is staying the course, even though Afghanistan is many miles from Oz. The people in Australia believe that terrorism must be defeated.

The cover photo today is of an Afghan Policewoman on the ranges, perhaps these brave female Afghanis will instill fear in the cowardly Taliban who have no thought for women.

I hope all of those that want to bring all of the troops out before that place gets settled get the Utopia they seek. Maybe some need to be reminded that between Cyprus and Golan Heights for starters how long peace keeping takes. I would like to think once Canadian Military arrives back home that there will be no repercussions. I believe that as World citizens we will all pay a great debit if we do not Stand that country up on its feet before we leave. I believe we will pay with Blood of our own citizens on our own soil if we do. We our presence in that country we have given those hope. Imagine if some one gave you hope and then half way through just walked away. That will be the biggest recruitment incentive to those that would do us harm.
I would like to insert a poem that was published in this month's Maple Leaf , a DND news letter.

    Do not cry for me,
For I am a Canadian soldier.
Guardian of The True, North, strong and free,
Ambassador of the Red Maple Leaf.

I know that, what I had of freedom,
    All I used or knew,
    Is what our fathers
    Fought for us long ago.

    I did not give
    That freedom away or,
    Have someone take it away
    By force or law.

    You hold in your hands
    The most precious of gifts.
Freedom to love and express art.
Freedom to be who you want to be.

    Freedom is a package deal.
With it comes responsibilities and consequences.
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Do not make our sacrifice, one in vain.

    I join God knowing,
I fought for my fellow mans freedom.
    My duty complete,
Yours to carry on in memory.

For now my mother is crying,
And criticism of our mission arises.
    Question not, but always remember,
For I am a Canadian soldier.
